This program is designed for students who wish to acquire logical ways of reasoning and to arrive at conclusions based on laws and principles of mathematics. It aims to equip the students with broad knowledge and extensive training in mathematics in order to prepare them for research activities, advanced studies and handle mathematics-oriented activities in private or public firms/institutions.
This program provides the students with a solid foundation in statistical theory and applications. Specially, it will equip students with the fundamental knowledge in data management, analysis, and statistical packages or software. In addition, the program will prepare the students for advance studies in statistics and meet the statistical needs of industries, business, and government agencies.
The course aims to develop students’ deeper and broader understanding of arts, culture, literature, and research through the acquisition of knowledge from various literary and cultural scholars. With this, they will be able to demonstrate higher level of analytical skills that will contribute to the greater body of knowledge in making a better community and society. Specifically, the course seeks to produce community-centered scholars who will not only produce but also publish creative, cultural, and critical texts to contribute to the development of literature and the society in local, national, and global levels, and the preservation of local culture and the traditions of literary arts.
This course is an advanced study on the application of Linguistic theories and methods to create high-impact research for English pedagogical practices. It aims to make students correlate early and current trends in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics in providing interventions for language-related problems in a wide range of professions; foster deep cross-cultural understanding through the documentation of Philippine Language and development of literacy materials; and be involved in various developmental activities to keep abreast of the problems and solutions related to linguistics and Applied Linguistics in the ASEAN and global contexts.
This program is intended for college teachers and professionals for the advancement of their skills. It enables them to appreciate the theories of mathematics that anchor the applications of mathematics in other fields; equips them with basic knowledge in solving real-world problems; and prepares them to pursue advanced studies.
Since 1995, the Department of Biology has been contemplating on offering a masters degree in Biology to provide its student a set of career development paths to fully enhance their knowledge and skills in biological sciences. The University of Southeaster Philippines College of Arts and Sciences has offered Bachelor of Science in Biology since 1980. Few graduates of this course proceeded to medicine while majority became teachers in elementary and secondary schools after taking up 18 units in education. Those with an advanced degree in Biology became instructors in colleges and universities. An advanced degree in Biology serves the USEP or other University graduates in Biology, Agriculture, and Forestry in the region as they desire to become a researcher or a University lecturer.
Objective
The Masters of Science in Biology is designed for research-oriented and experienced biology teachers who hold first degrees in the field of Biology or related courses. It will provide the students with holistic know-how and academic competence in the field of Botany, Zoology, and Ecology. It brings application to specific scientific approaches in the study of Biology.
