Electrical Engineering has immense significance. In the future, electrical engineering will be even more important as we shift to a more sustainable and renewable energy system. Electrical engineers will be needed to design and build new power plants, transmission lines, and distribution systems. They will also be responsible for maintaining and upgrading existing electrical infrastructure.
I am a staunch admirer of Nikola Tesla and Edison. It is not surprising that Elon Musk has named his electric car and company after Tesla. The world owes much to them and their pioneering work in the field of electricity. I have always been fascinated with electricals even though I studied to become an Electrical engineer. My interest was rekindled with the advancement of renewable sources of power and the way power plays a significant role in the lives of people and nations. I would like to do my masters in electrical engineering and help contribute to the world’s progress.
I would like to go in for advanced studies in electrical engineering in the modern context. I would like to learn more about various types of power generation, management of large electrical grids, integration of non-conventional sources of power, optimization in generation and distribution lines and about equipments in each type.
This program is my choice since it includes topics that are of interest to me and relevant to my future career goals. I hope to become a capable and efficient engineer once I complete this course and get a job as the chief engineer in a power plant in India.

I have chosen this university after careful evaluation of various institutions that offer advanced courses in electrical engineering. I chose this university for the curriculum in the course and for the way it has included essential topics and electives that help students to specialize in areas of interest. The university has a solid faculty and workshop as well as labs for students to implement their projects. This university incorporates latest advances in electrical engineering into its course curriculum, which is one of the chief reasons I choose to study here.
I have chosen to study here in the USA primarily because of its excellent system of education. Students learn and demonstrate that they have a full grasp of the topics they have studied. This is more important than passing exams and obtaining grades. I like the environment that nurtures talent and appreciates hard work. America is an equal opportunities land and progress of an individual depends on their talent and hard work. Apart from college education, I will also educate myself by understanding the traditions and hope to return to India a transformed individual.
Experience
My work experience is limited to the time I spent as an intern in the signals and telecom department in South Central Railways in Vijayawada.
Classes/projects that I undertook
I have undertaken studies on my own. I have a certificate in Data Science for Engineers from NPTEL. I completed CISCO’s Introduction to Cybersecurity course. I have a certificate from Coursera on Modern Applications Development with .NET on AWS. Cloud Computing is another area in which I have a certificate from NPTEL.
My first project was Firefighter Safety System. It integrates IoT with a microcontroller based fire safety system to notify authorities about people fighting fire and the need for rescue operations. The project included temperature sensor, pulse rate sensor, PIR sensor, flame sensor and gas sensor.
My major project was Enhancement of Network Security in MANET using SA-SFO algorithm. I proposed the use of chaotic cryptography based privacy preservation model to improve security in MANET IoT. I used Matlab to work on this project.
Leadership/community experience
I am good at leading from the front. I was key organizer in our college’s cultural festivals each year. I used the same skills to organize relief works for people badly affected by the Covid 19 pandemic.
Values I bring to the institution
I am ambitious and committed to achieving targets and goals. My present target is to complete this course with success and do the university proud with my contribution. I hope to repay the university some day in the future for all the education it will give me.
Career goals and how this course will help
I hope to complete the course and return to India and start as plant in charge in a large power generation unit. In time I hope to progress to the position of Chief Manager and oversee power generation utility’s operations. Power is a basic necessity and the current generation capacity is far below the demand. There are ample areas of growth and progress in conventional power generation units as well as solar and wind power farms. There are exciting possibilities and I hope to spearhead the power generation thrust area with my skills. This course will lay the foundation for my future career and my life for which I shall always be grateful.
